FAQ for Preschool/Elementary

Answers to most questions can be found in the Student Handbook, which is located in  the Admissions section of this web site. Here are answers to some of the most frequently asked questions from parents:
 
HOPE Preschool and Elementary begin at 8:30am and end at 3pm.  Extended care is available before and after school as follows:
 
Preschool:
Before School Drop Off: 7:45 am--8:30 am
After School Care: 3:00 pm--4:30 pm

K-5th
Before School Care: 7:15 am --7:45 am
After School Care: 3:30-6:00 pm
Driveline: 7:45 am--8:30 am/2:45 pm--3:30 pm

Yes. Parental involvement is encouraged and solicited by many teachers to assist with special lessons/projects, grading, field trips, etc. Opportunities to volunteer for in classrooms, at athletic events, concerts, plays and other activities are open to parents who pass a background check. The background checks are required to be done each year on the academic school calendar (August to July). Please complete the background check online (link to the right). There is a nominal processing fee for the background checks.

No, but we have PTF (Parent Teacher Fellowship), whose mission is to prayerfully serve to strengthen the HCS community, all to the glory of God. They are a blessing to the students and teachers on all campuses. Learn more on the Resource Board (quick links) and find out how you can get involved!

 
No, but we do have a Dress Code which is strictly adhered to. You will find details of our Dress Code in the Student Handbook.

If your child has any symptoms of being ill (fever, diarrhea, etc.) you need to keep them home until they are symptom-free for at least 24 hours.

Yes.  Parents and grandparents are welcome to purchase a hot meal and join their children for lunch, providing they call to place their order by 10am that morning.

All visitors must check in at the office first. Parents and Grandparents coming to the Elementary campus to join their students for lunch, or to volunteer in a classroom or elsewhere on campus, must check in at the Elementary Office. See Student Handbook for details.
Yes, our Elementary campus cafeteria is managed by Tenco Services. Children may purchase a hot lunch (beverage and salad bar included). Children who bring a sack lunch may also purchase a drink (regular milk, chocolate milk, juice, or water bottle) from the cafeteria.

Fees for the lunch program must be kept up to date and are payable online through your FACTS account. The monthly menu is posted on the Elementary section of our web site.
